Power is the ability to shape social reality.

A power dynamic is the way that power is used to construct social reality and thereby affect another person. From this perspective, all power struggles are a fight to control social reality.

A narrative is an explanation of how power is shaping social reality.

Power is always shifting, but it is particularly unstable in the realm of technology.

Technology is often used to reinscribe power dynamics and to spur new ones.

Technologies have aesthetics which make narratives easier or harder to see.

These aesthetics are present in:

1. What the technology produces (outputs)
2. How the technology works (logics)
3. How the technology looks (design)
4. How the technology is marketed (marketing) </aside>

Produce a work that details a narrative about how your chosen technology is used to shape social reality. Be sure to consider how aesthetics affect the narrative.

You are free to use any format you want. You may use a slideshow, a publication, a lecture-performance, etc. However it MUST be a designed form. You will be critiqued on the content as well as the formal properties of the work.

You may not use the technology itself. But you must do something that evokes the visual essence of the technology.
